Why a turquoise jumper works when everything else is grey
Most winter wardrobes narrow to black, navy and grey by November. That is comfortable. It is also why everything starts to look the same by February.
Turquoise sits between blue and green, so it reads as colour rather than statement. Against navy it does the job a scarf does, with none of the fiddling. Alison Sheri has designed knitwear in Montreal since 2002, and the palette is the part they change every season. The fit is the part they do not.
The button shoulder, and why it sells
The A48006 shape is doing the most work this autumn. It sits wide at the neck, with a row of buttons running along one shoulder. The cut skims instead of clinging, which is why it suits a broader range of sizes than most jumpers manage.
We took it in turquoise, ice blue and fuchsia pink. Sizes run S to XL, and the turquoise still has its full run in the shop.
Fuchsia, without feeling loud
Bright pink puts people off more than any other colour on the rail. It should not. Fuchsia is a warm pink, so it tends to flatter more complexions than a cool red does.
Put it next to charcoal or navy and it settles down immediately. The wide neck textured knit comes in the same shade, with more surface interest, so it carries an outfit without help.

The abstract cowl necks
Two cowl necks arrived in abstract prints. The teal works black and grey through the pattern, so it is busier up close than a thumbnail suggests. The pink runs fuchsia into navy and orange.
Both drape more than the plain knits do. A cowl adds bulk at the top, so keep the bottom half narrow and the shape holds.
What to wear them with
Straight leg denim is the honest answer for most of these. Our women's jeans run from pull-on styles through to high-rise flares, and the plainer washes let the jumper lead. A charcoal or mocha trouser works when you want it smarter.

Is fuchsia pink difficult to wear?
Less than people expect. Fuchsia is a warm pink rather than a cold one, so it tends to sit well against most complexions. The trick is to give it one plain neighbour. Charcoal trousers, navy denim or a black coat all take the heat out of it without dulling the colour. If you want to start gently, the wide neck textured knit has enough texture that the pink reads softer than it does on a flat knit.

The autumn delivery splits fairly neatly into two groups. This edit covers the turquoise and pink side, taking in turquoise, teal, ice blue and fuchsia across jumpers, cardigans and tops. The second group runs cobalt blue and red, with the same shapes repeated in those shades, plus a red pleated knit midi skirt. There are neutrals through the range too, including camel, mocha, charcoal and black, mostly in the trousers and the striped knits.
